Definition

M

“Portgate" is the process by which a carrier (truck, train) is passing a port gate or pre-gate facility. If no such port gate exists, it may be the event when the carrier passes the physical boundaries of the port limits.

Further Detail

O

Portgate is a sub-process of CarrierVisit.Arrival or CarrierVisit.Departure process.

The Portgate “start” event occurs when the carrier (truck or train) enters the port’s gate facilities. (either inbound to or outbound from the terminal)

Portgate “end” event occurs when the carrier (truck or train) leaves the port’s gate facilities. (either inbound to or outbound from the terminal)

Not all ports may have a designated port gate. If no such portgate exists, it may be the same facility as the TerminalGate .
