A system is in unstable equilibrium if, when displaced, it experiences a net force or torque in the same direction as the displacement from equilibrium. A system in unstable equilibrium accelerates away from its equilibrium position if displaced even slightly. stability torque is the moment (force per distance) you have to apply to move from stable equilibrium to the calculated normative reference value for the specific subject (it depends the type of machine) and a specific scenario (usually actual operation scenario). This value is defined by the manufacturer following the normative if applicable with the safety margin. stability reference: is the stability reference torque for the specific subject and scenario but without any load. stability reference normative: is the normative used to calculate the stability reference value. stability tip is the moment (force per distance) you have to apply to move from stable equilibrium to unstable equilibrium (with no margin). stability type: static or dynamic. It indicates the type of calculation is done for the values. | STATUS: We said that stability status is TRUE when the subject is below the reference torque (always in stable equilibrium with the safety margen). We said that stability status is FALSE when the subject is over the stability reference value in a not safety situation (under normative) or unstable equilibrium. VALUEs: stability torque is the moment (force per distance) that must be applied to a subject to change its stability status from TRUE to FALSE. stability torque % is the factor between the stability_torque and stability_reference_torque. stability load is the load weight that the subject can pickup keeping this stability status TRUE.
Value units: stability torque can be measure in any torque unit, example : Nw*m = Newton per meter; T*m = Tons per meter; kg*m = kilograms per meter.
