TIC Description

Further Detail

O

FirstTimeCarrierReadyForDeparture is a sub-concept type process of the Subject CarrierVisit.

Carrier is ready for departure when all of its own activities are complete and only depends on activities related to the departure process.

From the Carrier’s side, the Carrier has nothing else to do and has to wait for other activities. There is no activity that they have to do themselves for departure.

Vessel:

Event when the vessel reports First time readiness to sail to the terminal and the marine services provider according to local regulations, regardless if gangway is up or down because the gangway belongs to the departure process.

All the vessel-related activities and prerequisites for sailing are done, e.g.:

  • Cargo operations are complete

  • Paperwork is complete

  • Personnel on board

  • Lashing Complete

  • Third Party Services are Complete

Then, Vessel sailing is waiting for activities related to departure:

  • Piloting

  • Mooring

  • Towage

Truck:

Event when the truck is First Time ready to exit at gate out of the Terminal, whether loaded with containers or with no containers on its trailer, i.e. when the truck is in the Terminal area and is queued in the Gate Out lane or at the Gate Pedestal.

All the truck-related activities and prerequisites for gate out are done, e.g.:

  • Paperwork is complete

  • Cargo operations are complete

  • Lashing Complete (trailer container locks are engaged)

  • Truck driver is in the truck

  • Truck health is good for operations, e.g. pump tyres, cleaning wind shield

  • Third Party Services are Complete, e.g. X-Ray, Customs, fueling

Then, Truck is waiting for an external interlock to be released, or start the gate out process (departure process). Potential external limitations:

  • Traffic jam

  • Gate queue clearance

  • OCR broken

Rail:

Event when the train is First Time ready to move out or depart from the Terminal/Port.

  • Paperwork is complete

  • Cargo operations are complete (e.g. “rail-load-reported” to rail operator)

  • Lashing Complete

  • “walk-the-train”, including inspection, brake tests are performed on all train wagons

  • Train wagons are all assembled

  • Locomotive (train) ready to depart

  • Third Party Services are Complete, e.g. Customs

Then, the Train can start the departure process and is waiting for external limitations:

  • Traffic Light

  • Railway network authority

  • Railway dispatcher and the needed train crews in the rail network to approve the departure to avoid conflicts with other trains on the rail network, to avoid rail connectivity issues in the hinterland, e.g. in case the rail network was being maintained somewhere else …

  • Switchmen to align the switches between the tracks, e.g. if the train is to move from one track to the other

  • Other trains to depart if other trains are ahead on the same track
