Definition

The observed property type “location logical” represents a logical position of a subject (CHE, box, slot, etc.) within the specific yard grid of a terminal (e.g. block, bay, row, slot, tier).

TIC Description

Further Detail

O

The observed property type location_logical (logical position) is the counterpart to the Coordinate (physical position), the Technical (location within a CHE) and is complemented by the concept “Reference Point”.
It must be used together with the concept “location” (see Location).

Every location_logical has underlying coordinates which define its physical position. A specific coordinate may have a corresponding location_logical. Both may be translated from one to another and are determined at a subject-specific reference point.https://tic40.atlassian.net/l/c/1T5CAvg0

The logical location has different sub attributes that compile to the complete location:
Terminal: The terminal ID or site ID for the location
Terminal yard: A logical sub-group of the terminal that summarizes multiple blocks.
Yard block: A logical yard area of multiple (ground) slots that are physically in the same area. The yard block also includes a so called “heap stack” which is a logical group of locations for containers without a specific slot system and with or without a physical location.
Yard row: A logical row to stack containers inside a yard block. Usually used as the Y coordinate with the “longer” side of a container. Multiple containers can be stacked in one row.
Yard bay: A logical row to stack containers inside a yard block. Usually the X coordinate with the “shorter” side of a container. Multiple containers can be stacked in one yard bay.
Yard tier: The vertical logical location in the yard usually used as the Z-direction. It is the height of the location.
Yard orientation: orientation of the containers with the door as reference along the y direction of the yard block.
Location qualifier: is a logical qualifier of a location that groups the location to a certain operational area such as:

  • Vessel = V
    V VSLXY 02 05 03 (Qualifier/Vessel ID/Bay/Row/Tier)

  • Truck = T
    T 02 01 (Qualifier/Truck ID/Slot)

  • Yard = Y
    Y 01A 035 B 3 (Qualifier/Block/Bay/Row/Tier)

  • Rail = R
    R 011 013 04 2 (Qualifier/Rail/Wagon/Slot/Tier)

  • Community = C (not at the terminal, but maybe pre-announced)

  • to be extended
