TIC Description

Definition

PreparationAtArrival is a process of TerminalOperations by which a subject (usually a terminal) facilitates the Carrier, that belongs to a carrier visit process, to start TerminalsOperations and includes all the subject activities necessary to start CargoOperations.

Further Detail

O

preparationatarrival is considered “active” if the resources are in place and ready to perform the activity (loading, unloading or moving cargo). The “start” will define the first time the process is active and the end the last time. During the TerminalOperations the process could be inactive because the resources are not in place (e.g. suspension of operations due to high wind, resources not available).

carriervisit.terminaloperations.preparationatarrival is a subprocess of TerminalOperations process:

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.preparationatarrival  “start” event

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.preparationatarrival  “end” event is when

Preparation at arrival and closing at departure: Preparation and closing are necessary to execute the terminal operation, therefore they are included within terminal operations. Preparation and closing could be active before/after as they are preparatory/finalizing works. It is a preparatory/finalizing work before/after the terminal operations process start/ends and can be considered “active”. So preparation will always “start” before the terminal operations “start” and the closing will always “end” after terminal operations “end” because are activities that needs to be done before and after the terminal operations.

Considerations per Carrier type:

Vessel:

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.preparationatarrival.start is when the carrier visit completed the mooring and any CHE can be assigned to the designated carrier visit, starting the TerminalOperations process.

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.preparationatarrival.end is when the first container can be lifted as part of the CargoOperations process.

Truck:

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.preparationatarrival.start is when the is when the first che.cycle.start, related to any of the cargo visit that belongs to the specific carrier visit, event is getting ready to happen

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.preparationatarrival.end is when the CHE is moving the first container

Rail:

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.preparationatarrival.start is when the first che.cycle.start, related to any of the cargo visit that belongs to the carrier visit, event is getting ready to happen (first move of cargooperations) or is when one of the CHE deployed for performing the carriervisit.terminaloperations starts

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.preparationatarrival.end is when the CHE is moving the first container
