Within the order of moving a cargo, move the equipment to the final position of the container Concept (status) that describes the action to move (displace) and/or trolleying (positioning the spreader) as made by the subject (CHE) laden (locked) while performing an order type cargo from the “laden” start location (X,Y origin position of the cargo, not including Z) to the Waiting To Deliver area or Ready To Deliver transfer zone.

TIC Description

Further Detail

O

This stage starts when the CHE picks or receives the container, and ends when the CHE arrives to the destination position of the container.

Looking at this stage from the equipment point of view, here some examples:

  • STS Load: With the container loaded, time spent in move from the berth to the bay/ row of the vessel where the container will be placed

  • STS Discharge: With the container loaded, time spent in move from the vessel position to the lane or transfer zone area.

  • TT Load: Move with the container loaded from the yard to the QC Lane/Rail transfer lane where the container will be picked.

  • TT Discharge: Move with the container loaded from QC lane or Rail transfer lane to the yard position where the container will be picked.

  • RTG: Move the RTG to the position where the container will be delivered, could be a truck Lane or a transfer zone area.

  • IYC discharge: With the container loaded, time spent in move from the wagon position to the lane/transfer area/block position where the container will be placed

  • IYC load: With the container loaded, time spent in move from the transfer area to the wagon where the container will be placed.

  • Strad: Move the laden Strad to the position where the container will be delivered, could be a transfer area, a position in the yard or a truck

Moving To Deliver is true between when the cargo is locked by the subject and the moment the subject reaches the geofence area for queuing or the cycle laden end location (the end position of the cargo for the cycle process included in the order, usually called drop location). The “drive” and “trolleying” are included in this definition. In general, the areas for the transfer zones and the queuing zone are defined by the terminal.

    Specific cases:

    • STS Load: The Ship-to-shore spreader moves (CHE drives or trolleying) with cargo (locked spreader) from the location where it has picked up the cargo (transfer zone) and the queuing to deliver area (seaside portal beam) or deliver location (bay and row X.Y). In case there are different subjects (two trolleys or two orders for the same STS) like for multi-trolley operations the pick location could be the pinning platform (it depends on the subject Moving To Deliver refers to). An STS with two trolleys could be performing two job-stepping steps at the same time, so we recommend defining the subject by trolley and not by CHE.

    • STS Discharge: The Ship-to-shore crane moves (CHE drives or trolleying) with cargo (locked spreader) from the location where it has to pick up the cargo (vessel bay, row) and the queuing to deliver area (seaside/landside portal beam) or delivery location (transfer zone). In case there are different subjects (two trolleys or two orders for the same STS) like multi-trolley operations, the pick location could be the pinning/interchange platform (it depends on the subject Moving To Deliver refers to). An STS with two trolleys could be performing two job-stepping steps at the same time, so we recommend defining the subject by trolley and not by CHE.

    • TT or AGV: The Terminal Tractor or the AGV moves (CHE drives) with cargo (slot locked) from the location (transfer area, bay, transfer lane, truck lane or queuing area) where it has picked up the cargo to the queuing area or just within the transfer area.

    • RTG/RMG/ARMG/ASC: The gantry crane or the ASC moves (CHE drives and trolleying) from the location (bay and row X,Y) where has picked up the cargo to the Queuing area or transfer zone.

    • SC/SHC: The Strad or Shuttle Carrier moves laden (CHE drives locked) from the location where has picked up the cargo to the Queuing area or transfer zone.

    Example

    M

A message from the TOS which confirms the job-step status of the terminal truck 01 from the perspective of the order, che and driver:

    tos.@.jobinstruction.@.order.@2343.movingtocollect.status.output.actual.value: FALSE.

    tos.@.jobinstruction.@.order.@2343.queuingtocollect.status.output.actual.value: FALSE

    tos.@.jobinstruction.@.order.@2343.readytocollect.status.output.actual.value: FALSE

    tos.@.jobinstruction.@.order.@2343.movingtodeliver.status.output.actual.value: TRUE

    tos.@.jobinstruction.@.order.@2343.queuingtodeliver.status.output.actual.value: FALSE

    tos.@.jobinstruction.@.order.@2343.readytodeliver.status.output.actual.value: FALSE

    tos.@.jobinstruction.@.order.@2343.che.output.actual.id: TT01

Optionally the information could be duplicated under the “che” subject. If there are a lot of elements in the che array and subsequently in the same message then it is recomended to use the array identification after the “id”

    tos.@.che.@TT01.movingtocollect.status.output.actual.value: FALSE

    tos.@.che.@TT01.queuingtocollect.status.output.actual.value: FALSE

    Introduction to concept type “job-stepping”:

The concepts type job-stepping describes a status (what does or is the subject) related only to concepts (action) that “moves” cargo. The objective of this type of concept is to define what type of activity is the CHE doing to move the cargo. There are 6 basic sub processes to perform a move:

    • Moving to Collect

    • Queuing to Collect

    • Ready to Collect

    • Moving to Deliver

    • Queuing to Deliver

    • Ready to Deliver

All the steps are optional and would depend on the order. For one specific order, only one Job-stepping concept can be “true” at the same time.

    ...

TT order job stepping for Vessel load - 4 job steps example

    ...

TT order job stepping for Vessel discharge- 6 job steps example, geofence available

The https://tic40.atlassian.net/l/cp/S8dYAjXu (instruction to execute a sequence of steps) is the natural subject of the job-stepping, so we will include by default the concepts for each step under “order” but these concepts can be used with other subjects like CHE, user, cargo, etc.
