CargoOperations is the process done by the terminal to move the cargo during a carrier visit.

 TIC Description

Further Detail

O

Cargo Operations only include includes the move of cargo, not includes the cycle activities that are not related to cargo (lashing, hashcovers, twist-lock box etc). The rest of the CHE activities do not belong to this process but to terminal operations (PreparationAtArrival or ClosingAtDeparture)

CargoOperations is considered “active” if the resources are in place and are ready to perform the activity (loading, unloading, or moving cargo). The “start” will define the first time the process is active and the end the last time. During the terminal operations the process could be inactive because the resources are not in place (i.e. suspension of operations because high wind).

carriervisit.terminaloperations.cargooperations is a subprocess of TerminalOperations:

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.cargooperations “start” event happens when the first cargo move laden cycle starts (che.cycle.laden.start) by any assigned CHE related to a specific carrier visit.

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.cargooperations “end” event happens when the last cargo move is completed (che.cycle.end) by all assigned CHE related to a specific carrier visit.

Considerations per Carrier type:

Vessel:

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.cargooperations.start  event happens when the first laden cycle with cargo (first container or similar move) starts (cargo locked) by any assigned CHE (STS, MC) related to a specific vessel visit (carriervisit).

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.cargooperations.end event happens when the last cargo move is completed (che.cycle.end) by all assigned CHE related to a specific carrier visit, usually last cargo move (cargo unlocked) of the last STS or MC working on the related vessel visit (carriervisit).

Truck (as external carrier):

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.cargooperations.start event happens when the first laden cycle with cargo (container or similar) starts (cargo locked che.cycle.laden.start) by an assigned CHE (RTG, SC, RS, ECH) related to a specific truck visit (carriervisit).

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.cargooperations.end event happens when the last cargo move is completed (che.cycle.end) by all assigned CHE (RTG, SC, RS, ECH) related to a specific truck visit (carriervisit).

Rail:

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.cargooperations.start event happens when the first laden cycle with cargo (container or similar) starts (cargo locked che.cycle.laden.start) by an assigned CHE (RTG, SC, RS, ECH) related to a specific train visit (carriervisit).

  • carriervisit.terminaloperations.cargooperations.end event happens when the last cargo move is completed (che.cycle.end) by all assigned CHE (RTG, SC, RS, ECH) related to the specific train visit (carriervisit).
