Further Detail

O

Point of Work (POW) refers to the specific, logical or actual location in the Terminal where a container-handling unit (such as a crane, truck, or reach stacker) is assigned to perform Job Orders.

Examples of Points of Work types are:

  1. STS

  2. Gate (truck Work Queue (WQ))

  3. Rail (load and discharge WQ)

  4. Yard

The POW is usually served by a specific equipment pool. A pool can be shared between multiple POWs if needed (for example, a reach stacker can be loading a truck at the Road Transport POW and go load a train at the Rail POW afterwards).
