Further Detail | O | TIC Description | In case subject travel direction forward is clear, the following applies: The high order 4 bits (first) represent a position number, counting front to back on the vehicle. The low order 4 bits (second) represent a position number, counting left to right when facing in the direction of normal vehicle travel (forward). Instead of 4 / 4 bits, the byte can be split for example 6 / 2 to accomodate STS application. The wheel_ID should be labelled on the machine for better identification by humans. In case the travel direction forward is not clear (e.g. missing cabin, RTG, RMG, ASC, AGV): Needs to be defined by the vendor or the operator and needs to be labelled on the machine. As a generic definition the following applies to STS cranes: STS crane (lateral movement): looking towards the water - which side is forward? STS crane (trolley movement): forward is moving into the direction of the ship. |
