Average The average number of cargo (box) per unit of time (hour) moved by a subject (STS) when the subject is available (hour).

By default, the “productivity” “net productivity” refers to the gross performance of a subject “STS” to move cargo , with the cargo unit box, the time unit hour and the subject “STS” (only box), during the available time of the STS in hours.

The root of this KPI is https://tic40.atlassian.net/wiki/x/AYC4Rg but applied to a CHE moves only for cargo during the available time, discarding any unavailability.

The same concept can apply to other CHEs, but should be indicated in the name.

Nowadays net productivity normally is measured through the confirmed “deliver” “move” units done by a subject (usually a CHE) through the TOS. The systems are not registring registering the real moves done: they only register the process-wise confirmed moves.

Gross crane productivity: Number of boxes (standard box + hatch cover moves) / difference between first and last move

Standard move: A standard box movement

Hatch cover move: Place hold of the hatch on the vessel. Counts as two moves. Might or might not be invoiceable depending on the terminal

Net crane productivity: Number of boxes (standard + hatch cover moves) / (difference between first and last move - billable delays)

Billable delay: Any delay considered as invoiceable by the terminal manager caused by:

• Delays caused attributable to any part of the vessel (staff, mechanical issues, malfunctions, etc.) or the vessel’s crew and/or started by the vessel operation itself

• Weather delays that are considered as billable by the terminal’s regulations and not as “force majeure”

Non-billable delay:

• Terminal equipment failure/malfunctions that are considered as “billable” by the terminal’s regulations
